Simple Tips to Reduce Acidity


Acidity is one on the most common problems faced by us, but is also one of the simplest to cure.Acid that is produced in our stomach helps in digesting the food we eat, but when there isn’t enough food to digest, or if this acid is produced more than the required quantity, it leads to acidity pangs. Among others, belching, nausea, vomiting and mouth ulcers are common symptoms of acidity.


  1. Consumption of   banana, watermelon and cucumber will reduce acidity. Watermelon juice is great for curing acidity.
  2. Excessive smoking and drinking will increase acidity.so try to reduce it.
  3. Have vegetables like drumsticks, beans, pumpkin, cabbage, carrot and spring onions.
  4. Try to avoid pickles, spicy chutneys, vinegar, etc.
  5. Drink a glass of milk   everyday.
  6. Eat your food slowly.
  7. Don’t lie down after eating.
  8. Wear loose fitting clothing.
  9. Drink water the moment you get up in the morning.
  10. Consuming a few tulsi (basil) leaves will give you instant relief from acidity.
  11. Almonds (badam) dried figs (anjeer) and raisins (kishmish) help in reducing the burning sensation in the stomach.
  12. Avoid eating fried, fatty and junk food and excessive chocolates.
  13. Maintaining the right body weight helps in controlling acidity.
  14. Try to eat more homemade food and avoid eating foods from outside.
  15. Drink a glass of lukewarm water everyday
